Left home at 11.45am. Long drive from the midlands to Port Solent where the boat is moored. The idea of this journey is to start the preparation of Morgen for the part circumnavigation of the UK. Once unloaded and everything stowed and finally something to eat I began to look at the positioning of the various electronic aids which I have purchased over the last couple of months. Such as:
Garmin 750 Chartplotter
Garmin GMR18 Radar
Scanstrutt Radar mount
Battery monitor
Navtex
AIS
Stubby antenna
Glomex Antenna with boost
20W solar panel
Lewmar Helm Pod
IS15 Combi unit
Cruising shute with Snuffer
Memory map-marine charts
New lines
Gaurd rail gateway
And the list goes on!!!!
Looking at the electrics and the chart table where the displays are going to be positioned I have begun to realise the enormity of the task and how difficult it is going to be. I havn't even started on the normal cleaning and preparation procedure which is done at the start of every season such as lift, jet wash anti-foul, new annodes etc etc.
