Having sailed so far over the past weeks I cannot begin to tell you how much I have missed my family! Freddie is great company, don't get me wrong but its not the same as having someone to talk to. Although I keep in touch regularly by phone and text I really miss them. So I have been looking forward to the half term holiday as Fran and my youngest daughter are going to spend the week with me and I will return home at the end of the week with then and have a break from sailing for a week or two. Anyway they were supposed to arrive at about lunchtime but it is the bank holiday weekend and they didn't arrive until 5.30 to 6.00pm. Have you noticed how slowly the hours go by when your waiting for someone to arrive! Anyway they finally arrived and I had company again. Great.
Saturday and Sunday were days off and Fran and Georgia just settled in and took it easy. Monday we finally went up the river Fal from Falmouth to explore one of the prettiest rivers in the country.

It turned out to be a beautiful day with a little breesze which made for fine lazy cruising weather. And it was very relaxing. Just look at the face below!
After going up the river quite away we decided to return down the river to Mylor Marina. I had read quite a bit about mylor which is supposed to be a very nice marina. I shall wait and see.

First initial reaction once we arrived at Mylor was wow a really lovely place. See pictures above and below. Weather is quite good for a change but still very changeable.
Very changeable weather but always interesting
 Freddie relaxing in the sun
We also sailed from Mylor Marina out through the entrance to the river Fal. This turned in to a fabulous day with absolutely perfect weather and the first warm / hot day so far. We had to tack out to sea as the breeze was on our nose all the way out. However once out at sea I was able to put the cruising chute up and we had a great return sail to Mylor Marina with the wind behind us all the way. We managed to get back in half the time it took to get out to sea.
 Absolutely perfect

Do you get better?
